Roxburgh Drive Powder
Design Statement/Philosophy
A fresh and bold look for the powder bath provides the ‘wow’ factor the client was searching for. Simple and small, the footprint the existing powder room held could not be altered, so by using a patterned wallpaper, we were able to remake the simple into bold and striking.
Project Overview/Challenges, Solutions and Special Features
- The bath’s underwhelming freestanding vanity was replaced with a specialty paint finished, custom inset style vanity in quartersawn oak.
- Maximizing the new vanity size and extending the countertop wall to wall with a 3 sided decorative backsplash detail keeps toiletry items from tumbling to the floor.
- By selecting finishes and fixtures to coordinate, the remnant generated from a basement bar top fabrication was able to be utilized, not only for beauty, but for budget as well.
- Bringing in a bit of ‘fun’, the moody and bold, black and gold toned wallpaper featured a ‘surprise’ guest….a hidden exotic bird. This bit of whimsy was a subtle, but fun way play
BEFORE
Transforming our Powder Room was a little add-on to our existing Basement project. Loved how it turned out. Great ideas with quality products made for a great improvement.
